State School Relief
Did you know that State School Relief can help to you to provide school uniforms for your children?
The Victorian State School’s Relief Inc is one of our State’s oldest charities.
Established by state school teachers during the Great Depression, SSR was founded to provide immediate clothing and shoes to school children whose parents were facing extreme financial difficulty. Last financial year SSR assisted 84% of secondary schools and 40% of primary schools; resulting in 10,463 requests for assistance.
The program relies solely on donations to provide uniform and footwear assistance to Victorian government school students. Unlike many charities, no donations are used for administration purposes as the Department of Education Early Childhood Development funds our salaries, accommodation and administration.
Specimen Hill Primary School relies heavily on the support of State School Relief to ensure that students have access to new uniforms. If you are able to assist, please send your donation, clearly marked to the office.
Contact the office to make an appointment for your child to be measured for uniform items.
Pre-loved Uniforms
At Specimen Hill Primary we have a supply of pre-loved uniforms. These are free to parents who require them. Please call in at the school office.
We gratefully receive any donations of clean, second-hand SHPS uniforms.
Centrepay
Centrepay is a free direct bill-paying service offered to our school families receiving payments from Centrelink. Through Centrepay you can choose to pay education costs by having a regular amount deducted from your Centrelink payment. Minimum fortnightly payments are $20. Please contact the school office to complete a Centrepay Deduction Form. For further information please visit Centrelink’s website – www.centrelink.gov.au or you can call Centrelink on your normal payment number.
